Be Concise for Paseo

Your writing rules, live in Paseo.

Overview

Be concise checks what Claude Code and Codex write. This plugin shows each hook decision in Paseo: in the sidebar, in workspace panels, and in Command Center. A pill in the composer counts the rejected and flagged decisions.

Composer pill

Four states.

Inside the panel.

Activity

Each decision as it happens.

Search decisions by tool, file, session, project, or reason. Pause the feed, or open an event to read the request and response. The header counts calls, interventions, and sessions, with the average hook time.

Configuration

User and project rules.

Edit limits, checks, style, the dictionary, exceptions, and logging. A JSON view shows the raw file.

Writing tuner

Settings from your own writing.

Paste samples, and the tuner proposes settings they pass. Apply them to a draft, review it, then save.

Playground

Try a hook first.

Paste a file write, a Codex patch, a shell command, or a reply. Each hook shows its decision, reason, and findings. The command never runs, and the file is never written.

Plugin tab

Install be-concise from Paseo.

Install, update, downgrade, or remove be-concise for Claude Code and Codex from its GitHub releases.

Security

Files change only when you save.

  • Checked saves

Save validates through be-concise and checks the file revision first.

  • Drafts kept

If the file changed while you edited, the plugin keeps your draft and asks you to reload.

  • Previews apart

Playground results stay out of live activity.

  • Installs

Only the Plugin tab changes Claude Code or Codex, and only when you press one of its buttons.
