Prompt Manager Plugin for Paseo

Save it once.
Send it to any agent.

Overview

Prompt Manager keeps your prompts as Markdown files in a library on the daemon host. Find one from the composer and send it to the agent. Each save keeps a full copy, and Git sync can share the library with your other machines.

Four ways to send a prompt.

  • Composer barPrompts

Search saved prompts above the composer. Each result shows the title and up to 4 lines.

  • Attachment menuSaved prompt

Attach a prompt to a message. Search covers the title, the filename, and the text.

  • Slash command/prompts

    Opens the prompt panel.

  • Slash command/prompt code-review

Sends code-review.md to the current agent and starts a turn.

Library

Plain Markdown files.

Each prompt is a Markdown file, and its first heading becomes the title. Send to agent sends the open prompt to the current agent.

  • Edit and preview

Switch between Markdown and a formatted preview. The expand button gives the editor the whole workspace.

  • Other editors

Edit the files anywhere. If the plugin holds a stale draft, it rejects the save so you can reload.

  • One library per host

Each client and agent on the daemon host reads the same library.

History

Every save is a version.

Each save writes a full snapshot to the versions folder. Open History to read an old version as source or preview, then restore it as a new version.

  • Restore

A restore adds a version on top. The older versions stay.

  • Archive

Archive hides a prompt and keeps its history. Turn on Archived to bring it back.

  • Outside changes

Before it replaces or archives a file, the plugin keeps any text that changed outside it.

Folders and tags

Folders and tags.

Folders are directories in the library. Move a prompt, and its history moves with it. Search also reads the description and tags you add in Details.

  • Nested paths

Send a nested prompt by path: /prompt engineering/security/code-review.

  • Folder chip

Filters the list by folder and shows its tags. Archived adds archived prompts.

  • Prompt body

Descriptions and tags live in the frontmatter. Agents get the body only.

Import

Bring your prompts in.

In a browser, choose Markdown files or a folder. On any client, enter paths on the Paseo host. Each file gets its first version, and the source files stay where they are.

  • Limits

100 files and 8 MB per import, with 512 KB per file.

  • Existing paths

Paths that already exist are skipped and listed, archived prompts included.

  • Left out

Hidden entries, symbolic links, and versions folders. A host scan stops at 5,000 entries.

Git sync

Sync with Git.

Turn on Git sync and paste a remote. Each sync commits the prompts and their history, merges the remote branch, and pushes. With no remote, sync makes local commits only.

  • When

When you choose Sync now, a few seconds after each change, or every 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.

  • Conflicts

Edits to different prompts merge. If two machines change one prompt, sync stops and keeps your local commits.

  • Credentials

Background sync cannot answer a password prompt. Use a credential helper or an SSH agent.

On disk

Plain files in a folder you choose.

The library starts at ~/.config/paseo/prompt-lib/, or under XDG_CONFIG_HOME when it is set. Pick another folder in Settings, and the plugin opens that library. It does not move your files.

Get started

Install the beta.

Turn on plugins in Settings → Plugins, then run this on the daemon host. Git sync also needs Git there.
